Policy Advocacy

About Policy and Advocacy

The Public Policy Committee (the “Committee”) is a collaboration of staff and Board members that provides strategic guidance about public policy relevant to the mission of CLLARO. Staff, Board members, community members, and organizational and coalition partners identify and share potential policies to consider for engagement. The Committee then assesses how the proposed policies align with CLLARO’s mission, priorities, strategy, and capacity. CLLARO staff then advocate for policy change through varying levels of support, including drafting legislation, participating in coalitions, creating fact sheets, and sharing calls to action with our supporters.

Thank you to our partners, Senator Julie Gonzales, Reilly Carter from Gary Community Ventures, Vanessa Garcia from Education Reform Now, and Misha White from Colorado Homes for All Coalition, for providing insight and feedback, and to those who will provide future support.
