HerstoryThe role and contributions of Las Adelitas (soldiers) to the various armies of the Mexican Revolution were almost limitless. Las Adelitas often times were sexually abused and experienced domestic violence. Las Adelitas were tireless in their commitment to the Mexican Revolution, forging ahead with completing their various duties and tasks efficiently. They exercised great compassion and strength in preserving the lives of the soldiers. Their ability to look beyond the uniform of a soldier with integrity, strength, and appreciation for humanity is inspiring. Because of the active role played by Las Adelitas in the Mexican Revolution, their legacy has contributed to several distinct stereotypes of the Mexican women.
